Comments and Analysis

We routinely suggest consumers insist on a written binding estimate in advance of the move. Be certain that the estimate is very specific concerning the goods to be shipped. It is advisable to purchase additional insurance for lost or damaged goods since the statutory liability is only 60 cents per pound. For moves between states (interstate), if the final invoice exceeds the estimated amount, customers are required to pay only 10% over the original estimate when the goods are delivered, with a balance due in 30 days.
