This company is horrible! Find another mover.

This company is horrible! Find another mover. They gave me an estimate of $4100. When the driver came to pick up the stuff, he added more cubic feet and raised the price to $5100. By the way the truck was a day late. It took them close to 3 weeks to deliver from California to Texas. Their biggest problem is ED, who claims to be the General Manager. He was very argumentative and even threatened to hold my stuff and go court, all because I simply suggested that I would get on the truck to measure the actual cubic feet (this was what their moving coordinator Hillary told me to do. Ed also called me a couple days after that conversation posing to be an attorney for Allstate. I know it was Ed because I dialed back the number which he answered, and it was the exact same voice. Attorneys don't call they send letters. You can imagine how I felt being in a new place with nothing in it while being threatened to hold my stuff hostage. Ed was very rude, extremely unprofessional, and gave no consideration to me or my stuff. Sounds like he has little mans syndrome, should never ever speak with customers. They are scammers that sweet talk you initially but when they get your money they change like Jekyll & Hyde. Ed is horrible, but I blame whoever made him the GM he claims to be. Give them a bad rating and tell others.

Comments and Analysis

We suggest that consumers insist on a written binding estimate in advance of the move. With a binding estimate, the actual moving costs may not exceed the estimate. Be certain that the estimate is very specific concerning the goods to be shipped. It is advisable to purchase additional valuation for lost or damaged goods since the statuatory liability is only .60 cents per pound. If you obtain a non-binding estimate and you are moving between states (interstate) and the final invoice exceeds the estimated amount, customers are required to pay only 10% over the original estimate when the goods are delivered, with a balance due in 30 days. You can file a complaint or verify licensing by writing to the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration located at 1200 New Jersey Avenue SE, Washington, DC 20590, or calling (800) 832-5660 or visiting their website at www.safer.fmcsa.dot.gov.
