This company's promotional literature advertises a loan program which guarantees a $10,000 loan within 30 days regardless of credit history. Respondents are asked to send a $25 processing fee to initiate the process, and an additional $25 after the loan has been received. On February 6, 1997, the Bureau received mail returned by the post office marked, Return to sender, due to addressee's violation of Postal false representation. In California, any company that advertises the availability of loans in exchange for an advance payment is required by law, to register with the Attorney General, and post a $100,000 bond. Even if registered, it is unlawful for the company to collect any fees in advance of performing the services. This company has not complied with this law.
