Complaint Resolution Index (CRI) Explained The Complaint Resolution Index (CRI) is an indicator on how responsive a company is in addressing and resolving customer complaints brought to their attention by BCA. Licensing

California law requires anyone conducting a prepaid rental listing services to be licensed by the Bureau of Real Estate with a Prepaid Rental Listing Service (PRLS). A real estate broker’s license will also satisfy this requirement. Anyone licensed to conduct such business, unless licensed as a real estate broker, must also maintain a bond in the amount of $10,000 for each location. Comments and Analysis

Companies offering rental lists, either as prepaid rental services or as credit reporting services providing free lists, must be licensed by the State Department of Real Estate and maintain a $2,500 bond for each of its locations. To verify licensing call: 213 897 3399. In our experience, listed properties were taken directly from area newspapers, were already rented, did not exist, or failed to meet the customer's specifications. Many were listed without the knowledge and consent of landlords. In all cases, refunds were difficult to obtain in spite of promises to the contrary.
