Behind The Scenes Management Services

~ On May 12 2014 the California Bureau of Real Estate (“BRE”) filed a Complaint against Lisa Kathleen Kolar (“Kolar”).  According to the BRE Kolar was licensed as a real estate broker from March 25 1998 to March 22 2014.  Based on the investigation the BRE determined that from June 18 2012 through March 22 2014 Kolar was not licensed to do business under any fictitious business name in violation of the California Business and Professions Code. 

~ On January 3 2012 Kolar and Susan Marie Small (“Small”) filed a fictitious business name (“FBN”) statement with the Office of County Clerk for Riverside County.  The FBN statement indicates that Kolar and Small were owners of the FBN Behind The Scenes Management Services.  On January 18 2012 Kolar submitted a broker change of application to the BRE to add Behind The Scenes Management Services to her broker license.  The BRE did not add Behind The Scenes Management Services because the FBN statement indicates that it was a partnership where not all partners were licensed as brokers. 

~ The complaint alleges that Small had engaged in dishonest dealings while operating Behind The Scenes Management Services without reasonable supervision from Kolar.  The BRE is seeking disciplinary action against all licenses and/or license rights of Kolar and the cost of the investigation and enforcement as permitted by law and for such other and further relief as may be proper under provisions of law.  The matter is currently pending. 

~ On May 14 2014 the California Bureau of Real Estate (“BRE”) filed a Desist and Refrain Order against Behind The Scenes Management Services (“Behind The Scenes Management”) Behind The Scenes Property Management (“Behind The Scenes Property”) Su Small Home Services and Susan Marie Small (“Small”).  Based on the investigation the BRE determined that Behind The Scenes Management Behind The Scenes Property Su Small Home Services and Small had engaged in acts or practices in violation of the California Business and Professions Code.  The violations include but were not limited to; soliciting and offering to perform long-term property management services; soliciting listings of places for rent soliciting prospective tenants for rental properties offering to negotiate a lease for real properties and offering to collect rents for rentals owned by others without first being licensed through the BRE.

~ According to the Order Behind The Scenes Management Behind the Scenes Property Su Small Home Services and Small have never been licensed by the BRE to perform real estate services.  The Desist and Refrain Order prohibits Behind The Scenes Management Behind the Scenes Property Su Small oHome Services and Small from performing any and all acts within the State of California for which a real estate broker license is required unless or until a real estate broker license has been obtained.
