BCA's Summary and Analysis:
Some complainants allege the company fails to send policy information or provide other disclosures concerning billing procedures, broker fees, or claims procedures. In other cases customers report that funds collected as premiums for new insurance service, or, add on policies were not applied as intended, causing policies to be cancelled, or the insured to believe they were covered, when in fact they were not. One complainant alleges he paid the company for a bond, necessary to obtain his contractor's license, but the company failed to provide evidence of of the bond causing delays with obtaining his license. Other customers complain of poor customer service, delays in receiving refunds, or when filing claims, they found no coverage was available due to mistakes made by brokers, or claims by the carrier that no premiums were paid on behalf of the customers.The company responds to most ccomplaints by offering explanations for their actions, by reinstating policies, or taking other appropriate steps to resolve problems.
