Clearwater Beach Hotel

I think this hotel is guilty of fraud and false advertising . Who knows how many times they have been guilty of this same scam.

I booked a room at the Clearwater Beach Hotel for October 4, 2019 on that same date. When I arrived, they wanted another $87.13 for the room and had just asked the couple they registered before me a very large "security" deposit. I assumed the amount they were charging me was the security deposit for my room and waited for it to be refunded to my account after our 1 night stay. After waiting over a month, I decided to contact the hotel. I spoke to the front desk yesterday and was told the manager had gone home for the day and to call back tomorrow. I thought it was peculiar that the recorded message answered "Gulfview Hotel" (727-547-5586). When I called back today, I spoke with a woman named Joyce. She informed me that I had not reached the Clearwater Beach Hotel and that they were the "Gulfview Hotel" and they "get calls for the Clearwater Beach Hotel all the time", but that they can't find where the error is. I asked if she could give me the # for the Clearwater Beach Hotel& she said she could not. I then contacted Travelocity, they called the hotel (at 727-400-6980) and spoke to them and got back on the phone and agreed to refund the money I paid Travelocity. The internet clearly shows the hotel as being on the beach (it was not) and it is the hotel I stayed in and is listed as the Clearwater Beach Gulfview Hotel. I think this hotel is guilty of fraud and false advertising . Who knows how many times they have been guilty of this same scam.
