Questionable loan mod services
CAA falsely assured me they could definitely help me obtain a modification with my bank. This is the only reason I felt comfortable paying them an advance fee. The FTC banned these practices in 2011, but they seem to think they found a loop hole. Turns out I do not qualify for a hardship modification. After the bank denied my request the next part of the pretense was they pretended they would do a forensic audit. They call it a “compliance review” of your loan. What they actually do is nothing. It’s merely a tactic to temporarily appease the customer and then cut off all communication with them. In a later conversation I was able to get out of their compliance dept that they do not do forensic audits and that it requires an attorney. Now I'm worse off and they move on to a new client. The BBB states this company does not have the required competency license from the California Bureau of Real Estate. They need to be more selective, up front and honest with their customers.
