This company acts as a call center and lead generation service for debt settlement law offices. ~~Since October 27 2010 amendments to the Telemarketing Sales Rule (TSR) by the Federal Trade Commission now prohibit for-profit debt relief companies selling services by phone from charging advance fees before they settle or reduce a customer’s debt. ~~Debt relief companies are now required by law to disclose in advance how long it will take to see results the cost of the service the negative consequences that could result from using the service and key information about dedicated accounts if they choose to require them. The amended TSR also prohibits misrepresentations about services provided success rates and non-profit status and extends the TSR to cover calls consumers make to these firms in response to debt relief advertising. ~~For-profit debt relief services include; credit counseling debt settlement and debt negotiation services. Non Profit firms are not covered by the amendments however for profit companies who falsely claim nonprofit status are included.
