Complainants allege the company gives false or misleading information about the terms and conditions of services offered, and cancellation policies when soliciting their services. Some complainants allege they are verbally told they may cancel if not satisfied with services, but later learn that their contracts are non-cancelable. Other complainants allege their accounts are debited monthly, but their equipment was never activated, or, that they unknowingly sign contracts which contain blank spaces that are filled in later by E C P committing them to charges for services they did not agree to. Many allege the equipment they are paying several thousand dollars to lease, has a market value of only $600. Most complainants requested cancellation of their contracts, along with refunds. The company responds to some complaints by denying cancellation and refund requests and reminding complainants their agreement with ECP is non-cancelable. Allegations of deceptive practices concerning their sales tactics are generally not addressed. Some complaints are closed as unresolved, meaning the complainants are not satisfied with the company's response. Many other complaints are unanswered.
