If you buy a fare from this company - you are a 'geek'

My husband and I found a flight to the Maldives from Cheapflights, who re-directed me to Faregeek who were offering a return flight from Heathrow Airport from £434.45p each using Qatar Airways. On the way to and from the Maldives, we stopped at Doha. While we were in the Maldives, we contacted Faregeek to enquire if we could stop at Doha on our return journey for a few days. It was eventually confirmed we could change our flight, but would cost £559.60p total to do so for us both. This was an extortionate cost considering we only paid £434.45p each for our original full booking. To have booked using Qatar Airways, we would have paid £711.71p each, which would have now worked out cheaper as they were prepared to change the date for just a small cost. We also changed our date from a Saturday to a Tuesday which was less demanding. How can Faregeek explain such a high charge for changing just one flight date?
