Common Claim Types

We take all types of claims, but here's a list of the common claim types and a list of claims we do not take:

  • Loss or damage of goods
  • Failure to deliver on time
  • Overcharges on service
  • Customer service issues

We will not take the following types of claims:

  • Insurance claims
  • Claims against a moving broker
  • Claims that have already been adjudicated through court or arbitration
  • Claims we cannot verify that the claimant was an actual customer of the moving company

How to File a Household Goods Moving Claim

If you've attempted to resolve the issue directly with the moving company and haven't received a satisfactory response, BCA can help with the claim process by stepping in as a neutral third-party.

  • 1. Fill out the information for the mover you are filing a claim against.
  • 2. Enter your claim details, sharing as many facts as possible, and what your desired outcome for the situation is.
  • 3. Fill out your information so we can contact you about your claim.

Once you've submitted the form, a Claim Specialist will reach out to the moving company, explain to them what the claim is and then ask for a response. By working with both the moving company and customer, the Claim Specialist will try to resolve the claim.
