On December 8, 2000 Flashcom filed a voluntary petition in U S Bankruptcy Court for protection from creditors pursuant to Chapter 11 of Federal Bankruptcy laws. The filing provides protection from creditors, and also allows time for reorganization, or winding down operations.They have advised customers they will continue in business, but many DSL accounts have been sold to Northpoint and Rhythms.
