The Federal Trade Commission ("FTC") approved a Final Consent Order involving Fowlerville Ford's ("Ford") deceptive advertising charges. The FTC determined that it had reason to believe Ford violated the FTC Act, the Truth In Lending Act ("TILA"), and implementing Regulation Z. Under the Settlement Order, Ford is prohibited from misrepresenting in any advertisement for the purchase, financing, or leasing of motor vehicles, the cost of leasing a vehicle, the cost of purchasing a vehicle with financing, or any other material fact about the price, sale, financing, or leasing of a vehicle. The Settlement Order further requires Ford to comply with TILA and the Consumer Leasing Act by clearly disclosing credit and lease laws which prevents Ford from misrepresenting the material terms of any prize, sweepstakes, giveaway or other incentive.

For five years after the last date of dissemination of this Order, upon request of the FTC, Ford shall make available any documents necessary to demonstrate full compliance with this Order. Within sixty days after the date of service of this Order, Ford shall file with the FTC a true and accurate report, in writing, setting forth in detail the manner and form of its own compliance with this Order. Within 10 days of receipt of written notice from the FTC, Ford shall submit additional true and accurate written reports. This Order will terminate on February 20, 2034 or twenty years from the most recent date that the United States or FTC files a complaint in federal court alleging any violation of the Order.
