Complaint Resolution Index (CRI) Explained The Complaint Resolution Index (CRI) is an indicator on how responsive a company is in addressing and resolving customer complaints brought to their attention by BCA. If they are considering doing business with the company, consumers can use this indicator to forecast the likelihood of having their issues addressed if a problem arises. CRI measures the company's customer satisfaction abilities through BCA’s complaint mediation process.

Comments and Analysis

Effective October 2009 in California it is illegal to collect any fees regardless of the form for negotiating or attempting to negotiate a loan modification for a residential mortgage. All modification services must be fully completed before any money can be collected. It is also illegal to divide fees or services into components for the purpose of avoiding this law.~~HUD approved housing counseling agencies are exempt from this law.~

Other Considerations

On December 13 2013 we asked the company to provide supporting documents for complaints processed. The company declined our request stating they would need written authorization from their client due to a confidentiality agreement. The company instead provided sample retainers similar to the ones entered into by the complainants which was not the information we requested. ~~After reviewing the agreements along with the complaint allegations it appears advanced fees are being collected prior to foreclosure relief services being provided. In addition it appears that company is entering into agreements to provide services to out of state residences where the firm is not licensed. We consider the allegations are serious.
