Comments and Analysis

This company advertises in the help wanted sections of newspapers for typist. Respondents are asked to send $42 for a computer disk purported to contain the names of companies that hire people to do computer work. On October 15, 1996 mail sent to the company was returned by the Post Office marked, moved left no forwarding. Also, telephones have been disconnected, with no new number available. Our experience with simular offers indicates that the companies do not themselves hire anyone, rather their business is selling the disk. Complaints against this type of offer generally allege failure to send the ordered disk, receipt of a damaged disk and receipt of a disk that does not fit the computer. Typically, the disk, when received, contains nothing more than a listing of companies who might need home workers and recipients are required to find their own work. We suggest that interested parties request that the company supply substantiation to any earnings claims they make prior to paying any fees. In most cases, others that have done so did not hear from the companies and saved themselves the initial start up fees the companies charge.

Other Considerations

Mail sent to this company was returned by the post office as "moved; left no forward address," "forward order has expired," or "unable to locate." We cannot trace addresses of companies or principals. General information is available upon request which may assist you.
