About the scholarship

The Jerry Dominguez Scholarship Fund is named in memoriam of former BCA Chairman and long-time Board member, Jerry Dominguez. Jerry was a native Californian, born in San Francisco and raised in the Long Beach area. He served in the Army in Vietnam and, upon return, immediately began to pursue a college education at California State University Long Beach and to marry the love of his life, Donna. He was the first in the family to earn a Bachelor’s degree. His career with the Southern California Edison company lasted for over 30 years until his retirement. A strong advocate for education and business, Jerry joined a number of non-profits noted for helping veterans and others engaged in pursuing careers in business. He actively encouraged his children to get college degrees, which both son and daughter have achieved. His passion for business directed him to the Better Business Bureau and then to Business Consumer Alliance where he served as Chairman of the Board for 9 years.

Who Is Business Consumer Alliance?

Business Consumer Alliance (BCA) is a nonprofit organization committed to strengthening confidence between businesses and consumers. We empower consumers by resolving disputes, providing transparent business reputation reports, and promoting informed decision-making.

Today, BCA also serves as a strategic partner to contractors, movers, and small business owners by providing essential membership benefits such as contract formation support, arbitration services, complaint resolution assistance, customer review platforms, and complimentary legal guidance.

Together with our members, we advance a fair and accountable marketplace where businesses and consumers succeed.

Many small businesses do not have the capital or workforce to retain an on-staff attorney, collections department, HR department or customer service representatives. We fill the gap, providing services and resources to reduce spending and help your business grow. BCA obtains its funding from member businesses that support the mission and purpose of the organization. If you are a business owner and wish to support our mission, consider joining as a member!
