Overcharging

I went in to purchase middletons black and mild 5pk and was scanned 5.29 he manually entered in the tax amount which came up to 6.47 this store owners is cheating people out of their hard earned money and it's not right. Could someone please check what this guy is doing there is not telling how many people he has cheated or overcharged
