Honestly, trust is a huge deal with me. I want to be certain that when I drop my car off its in good hands and I am not going to be ripped off in the end. I really don't think I am asking for much. I had purchased a car and the guy totally lied to me about the condition. So,I took it to KAR and told him that my head light bulbs need replaced. The fuses are fine. I checked them. Told him that my battery is going strong. I already had that checked. I mentioned I only had 4 lug nuts on each tire. (5 lug nut Pattern on car) I also told him that all 4 tires were in poor shape. So this is just things that I knew about then. So I'm already mad cause I got ripped off by the seller. You would think one would have just a wee bit of sympathy. Not KAR! They made things so much worse. I priced a cpl items a day before. I was going to do them myself. But the lugs you have to have a special tool. They charged me $24 to tighten a (+) cable on my battery. (I told them battery was good) $42 to put headlight bulbs in. ( That's more than the bulbs! $33.20) $19.80 for three lugs they found laying around the shop ( Set of 5 Brand new at advanced Auto is $9.95!) $60.00 for a tire that was in very poor condition. They put it on the rt front. (He said mine had a broken belt. Everyone i spoke with said that you can definitely tell if your tire has a broken belt. Your whole car would shake. Mine did not. I took my car a two days later to get 2 new tires put on. I didn't mention the 1 KAR had replaced. I told him to just pick the worst 2 and replace them. Would you know, he replaced the front 2 tire's! I mean really!? This guy didn't charge me to mount and balance these 2 new tires. kar charged me $20 to mount and balance a crappy tire that definitely would have blown out soon. Finally, I had kar check my oil. He said it was good..... WELL, the next day, I went to my brother's house. An we checked the oil. It was over 2 qts LOW!!!! I added the oil. I check it often. Cause I'm thinking maybe she's leaking oil. Nope, months later still in good shape. That could have locked ruined my car. I will not be going back.to kar.

California law affords you certain rights when you have repairs made to your automobile. Repair shops are required to display a sign informing you of these rights. They include, for example, the right to a written repair estimate, to a detailed invoice of labor and parts, and to the return of any parts replaced, provided you request the return at the time you order the work and provided that your warranty does not require that the be returned to the manufacturer.A repair service may not perform repairs beyond those listed in the estimate without your authorization. However, if they have to tear down a component to give you an estimate, you may have to pay for the labor to tear it down and reassemble it. You will know beforehand, though, what the charge for that will be. You should never sign a blank work order, and a reputable dealer will not ask you to.For businesses outside of California, please check with the agency that regulates this industry.
