Little Guyana Bake Shop

Charging fees that have not been approved by the credit card companies.

I purchased groceries at Little Guyana Bake Shop on 8/17/2019. The total charges were $19.99 but I noticed an additional charge of .79 was added to my bill listed as a Convenience fee. I questioned the store about the charge and was told its an additional charge for using a credit card and all customers is required to pay it when using any credit card. I immediately advised the store that based on my understanding of how credit cards works that is not an approved fee, I requested the transaction be refunded and I paid cash. There is also a sign placed in the store that there is a 4 charge for using a credit card. Upon speaking to Visa they agreed that there should not be a Convenience charge. I am overly concerned as to how may consumers were charged this fee. Customers should be refunded that fee there are also many businesses on Liberty avenue that charge a fee for using a credit card with a 10.00 minimum
