Complaint Resolution Index (CRI) Explained The Complaint Resolution Index (CRI) is an indicator on how responsive a company is in addressing and resolving customer complaints brought to their attention by BCA. If they are considering doing business with the company, consumers can use this indicator to forecast the likelihood of having their issues addressed if a problem arises. CRI measures the company's customer satisfaction abilities through BCA’s complaint mediation process.

BCA's Summary and Analysis:

Complainants allege the company misrepresents its educational video tapes, and fails to honor their money back guarantee. Some customers complain the tapes are actually only still photos with music in the background. Others allege the tapes are of very cheap quality, and are useless or impractical for usage as educational, or instructional materials. Several customers claim they return the videos, however, the company fails to issue refunds for the returned items. Other complainants allege unethical collection practices are used. A few customers claim they were threatened with legal remedies, such as court (without being served); or arrest by local authorities for non-payment. Others allege the company contacts their friends and relatives as a harassment tactic. The company responds to one complaint by offering the customer a partial refund of $200. The customer initially accepted the offer, but later advised the refund was never received. All other complaints remain unanswered. The Federal Trade Commission's Mail Order Rule allows the seller 30 days to ship ordered products to the buyer unless otherwise specified at the time of purchase. If the seller cannot ship within the 30 day period, they are required to notify the buyer in writing of the delay, and give the option of waiting, or having their money returned within seven days. Credit card payments must be credited within one billing cycle.
