Comments and Analysis

We rate this company as having an unsatisfactory business performance record. This company reportedly advertises nationally in the "Help Wanted" section of local newspapers for movie extras, and a training program in the entertainment industry. The movie extra ads advise the company is casting for an upcomming movie production to be filmed in Los Angeles. A $35 processing fee is required in advance payable by direct bank account debits or credit card. Training programs by mail are $49, and reportedly include job placement services. Although their advertisments imply otherwise, this company is actually in the business of selling information and lists of companies to whom you might apply for work. The complaint history for this company shows one complaint which alleges an unauthorized bank account debit, and failure to deliver the information package. Specifically, the complainant agreed to a $35 debit to his account for information which would allegedly lead to employment. His bank statement showed an unauthorized debit of $50. The company responded to the complaint by denying the refund request. They pointed out the additional amount of the debit included shipping and handling charges. Another complaint alleged the respondent paid $49 for a training program for a set designer or assistant producer. He alleges he received only a list of places in his area where he could wait tables. He contends he could have gotten the same list from his local phone book. The complaint remains unanswered by the company. We urge caution. Our experience with similar offers has shown no evidence that employment is actually being offered, or that job placement services promised are a reality. Your success in the acting industry will depend on your own talent, perseverance, and ability to utilize your resources. Casting calls are routinely posted by the film industry in trade publications and periodicals. As a general rule, they do not charge you $35 for the privledge of working for them. Remember, if it sounds to good to be true, it probably is. The Better Business Bureau does not endorse, recommend or disapprove of any product, service or company.
