We urge caution. This company claims to offer a prize or promotion by mail or e-mail, soliciting consumers for redemption or processing fees to claim a prize. Potential victims across the country are receiving similar notifications that they are “lucky” lottery winners or have won a sweepstakes they just don’t remember entering. If you have received a similar notification, it should not be regarded as a notification of winnings, but rather, a solicitation for a scam. The notification will probably ask for your immediate response, and may include a check with your name on it. Do not under any circumstances send a check or wire transfer money to any individual or company in connection with the solicitation.Don’t be fooled by an offer that supplies a check for you to deposit. Chances are the check will not have any money to back it up. This means if you follow instructions, deposit the check, and send funds to the company, the check will prove to be fraudulent, and you will end up owing the bank for the amount. The solicitation will tell you that the check is to help you offset fees necessary to collect winnings. They may be described as insurance fees, taxes, or shipping and handling fees which they claim you will need to pay before you can claim your prize. In some cases you may be directed to call their financial advisor in order to find out how to claim the winnings. If you feel you have been victimized by this scam, it should be reported immediately to the U S Postal inspector, or the FBI.
We know of no other matter or practice relating to this company that may assist you in your consideration of this company.
