Dating services agreements are required by California law to include a three-day cooling-off period, during which the client may cancel for any reason. If it doesn't include this provision (or any other provision required by law), you may cancel it at any time. Your right to cancel, and instructions for cancellation should be provided on your contract, or on a seperate attachment when your contract is signed. The three day period begins upon the client receiving a signed copy of the contract. Cancellation notices should be sent by certified mail to obtain proof of receipt. This same law allows such services to keep an unspecified amount for services rendered. Be advised contracts seldom make any allowances for dissatisfaction with services provided. To avoid problems make sure you are aware of exactly what services are included in your contract. Don't succumb to high pressure. Unsubstantiated claims of successful matches, and satisfied clients should not be taken too seriously. Get all verbal promises in writing. Study your contract before you sign it. Make sure it includes all the provisions that are important to you, and make sure you understand the conditions under which you can get your money back.
