Customer Complaint

11/24/2021

I signed a contract for a used SUV on 11/19/2021 because I was supposed to pick up the SUV on 11/20/21. I received a call from the salesperson that morning informing me the SUV was in the shop getting some minor repairs done and they were short-staffed and would not finish with the repairs until 11/22/21. Again, I was promised that I would receive the vehicle that day. On 11/22, I received another call from the salesperson informing me they ordered some tires and they were not in stock. At that point, I became concerned and contacted another dealer. I was approved for a new vehicle at another dealer with a much lower interest rate and monthly payment. I informed the salesperson at Lafontaine what I had done. Since, I had not taken possession of the vehicle I informed him I would rather get the other car. When I initially signed the contract on 11/19, I had done, so in good faith. I feel the vehicle was not going to be a good car. I obtained financing for a new car at another dealer using the same finance company. Once I informed Lafontaine, the salesperson stated they sell the same cars and wanted the chance to find the particular model. On 11/23, the salesperson informs me there were no cars available for that particular unit. At that point, I was canceling the deal. I wasn't comfortable taking possession of the used vehicle. They pushed through the financing for the original purchase even though the car was not ready at the time and I had already expressed Resolution Sought I do not want to purchase from this dealer. I want them to return the funding to Capital One Finance.
