Do not hire Joe Pardo!

We're writing this review to detail the issues with the work done on our house after a dishwasher leak caused damage to our floors, cabinets and walls, in both the kitchen and laundry room and closet below it. We hired Joe Pardo on Darren Webb's recommendation back in July 2022. It is now August 2023 and the work on our home is still not complete. The work that is complete is unsatisfactory as you will see in the photos below.  One overriding problem was that Joe was largely absent from the job, admitting as much as he was working on a house up in Big Bear, which was "his livelihood". That left us, the homeowners, to deal with the subs and problems that arose. And there were several problems... The first set of problems came with the cabinets. After specifying in writing that the new cabinet should be solid maple to match the rest of the cabinets, Joe's sub used 'pre-fab birch' which was clearly visible on the wood when we returned home from work that day. Joe was not on site to oversee the work and this set us back two weeks as another cabinet was made. (See Photo 1) There was also a lot of 'overspray' on the deck when the painter sprayed the cabinet doors (See Photos 2,3) Furthermore, the new cabinet that was built is unlevel, leaving us with gaps between the marble and the wood. (See Photos 4,5,6,7) The second set of problems came with the countertop. The fabrication was done incorrectly, leaving us with an angled piece near the sink. The sub attempted to correct this by cutting the edge, creating a seam and leaving a burn mark on the marble. (See Photos 8,9,10) The piece by the stove had a chip on the edge. The sub also attempted to fix this, but that left the sides uneven. (See Photos 11,12,13,14) Once again, Joe was absent during the installation. When he saw the work he reluctantly agreed to a new piece of marble, but not without stating he thought we, the homeowners,, "would never be happy" when all we really want is the work done correctly.  After confirming the yard would have additional slabs to select, we drove back to Anaheim. The sub and salesmans had two slabs that we had already seen, leaving us little choice. The sub proceeded to template one of the slabs, but we asked that he hold off on the fabrication while we looked at other options... It was around this time that Joe went silent. He was not at the stone yard and when we texted him the next day he did not respond. His workers showed up as scheduled on Tuesday 10/25, but did not complete the paint on the ceiling or in the guest room (See Photos 15,16) and were unable to remove the overspray on the deck with a pressure washer. We have not seen or heard from them since despite our texts and phone calls.  Do not hire this guy! He is absent from the job and will not be on your side should any problems arise!
