Akar sold me a car with a junkyard engine in it and was not aware until the engine seized and was not drivable. Mark longo at akar promised me that Hyundai would be putting brand new motor in it and Hyundai is saying that akar is not communicating with them. Hyundai in Shrewsbury NJ, said either i have to pay 9000.00 for a new motor or akar has to pay. I was promised that because i brought it back within 30 days, akar would be paying for a brand new engine. I have several texts from akar stating this. I haven't had my car now since 6/7/21 and no results. I'm having to pay for uber, walk and pay fir grocery deliveries, that i could have gotten myself if akar did what they promised. It is now 8/24/21, and i still have no car, no updates, have no idea if akar is going to honor their obligation to fix my car. I'm being lied to, "brushed off" and have no idea when ill get my car back. People need to be aware that this business is not a good place and they are thieves, and liars. I'm still on the phone all day trying to get an answer about my car. I'm seeking litigation at this point and want the engine paid for by akar as they promised, or my money back. Id rather just get my money back at this point because i don't trust akar to do anything they promised. Resolution Sought Pay for the motor like they promised me or return my money. I have multiple texts from Mark Longo promising new motor, new speakers and that the car would be detailed, which it never was. I just want them to pay Circle Hyundai for the repairs or refund my money that I paid...over 9000.00.

As for this complaint, this is something that we took care of in good faith as we said we would. There are a number of discrepancies in this complaint that need to be addressed. 1. Anthony purchased a nine year old used car that statutorily would carry no warranty on it. We provide the 1K/30 day powertrain warranty in GOOD FAITH so that when issues like this arise, we ensure that the customer is not left high and dry. This is how we operate. 2. In researching why a car with only 60K/miles on it would explode like it did, we learned that Hyundai has an issue with their motors and that the vehicle was covered under a warranty. More information can be found by referencing an article by David Shepardson of Reuters, titled, "Hyundai, Kia agree to $210 million U.S. auto safety civil penalty". Even by checking their dedicated Engine Recall Website with the VIN #, it did not report or show as an eligible vehicle. We contacted the dealership who checked their system and informed us after an inquiry that they would fix it under warranty. We had the vehicle towed to the dealership, informed the customer, and that was the last we heard of it until the middle of August when Anthony and his step father were told by Circle Hyundai that the block was already replaced and because of that, they couldn't honor the factory warranty. They then tried to hijack $9,000 from the customer to pay for the motor. Upon hearing this, we reached out to the dealership and then to Hyundai where we filed a grievance and a case was opened. It is detailed in the attached email. As they didn't wish to wait further, they opted for a refund of their purchase and we did just that on September 3, 2021. 3. Hyundai did the right thing and they did replace the motor at no charge after the fact. This was known and acknowledged by Anthony in the attached text messages. As he said, it took a long time. Much longer than it should have and in the end, we have been the ones to have lost more than anyone due to the faulty engine and nefarious actions of the dealership to take advantage of the customer and blemish our name. We didn't build a car with issues. We diligently communicated with Hyundai once notified of the engine repair quandary until they relented and continued with the repair, as first promised. We were the one that ended up giving the customer their money back, and now also having to deal with this blemish for trying to do the right thing from day one.
