AAA Mid-Atlantic complaints

I had an emergency with my car alternator going bad, so I had to request a tow from AAA (for which I am a member and pay fees). I put in the request at 7:45pm and they said my tow eta was 11:39pm - almost 4 hrs. Between the time I put in the request and midnight, I called AAA three times and spoke with representatives. The first 2 times I called, which were around 10pm and 11pm, I was told that someone was coming at the designated time. The third time I called was after midnight, past my eta time. I was transferred to a manager that had no clue what was going on and said that this whole time, the tow companies weren't even responding to them and that no one was on their way. She said she would try to figure out what was going on and would give me a call back, but never did. I ended up just deciding to risk it and drive home because it was getting very late and I felt unease staying in the parking lot at night any longer and I did not want to leave my car unattended (the reps were telling me to leave my car with the keys under the seat for the tow, which I did NOT want to do). I made it home with the help of my partner, who needed to give my battery a jump once on the drive home. When I got home, I went to cancel my tow request and saw that they had updated my tow eta to 1361 minutes aka 22 hrs. It's ridiculous that I pay membership fees to AAA for emergency roadside services that in the end were useless to me when I needed them. Resolution Sought I want to be refunded for every $$ that I've paid to AAA. It's a complete scam for me to pay membership fees for emergency roadside assistance and then for AAA to completely abandon and ignore me when the time comes for me to be provided with these services.
