On Monday, July 18, 2022 I called for road service (in Bergen County, NJ, where I live) – I thought that my battery needed a jump. Turned out that the battery was dead. The technician who told me this was courteous enough. He asked me if I would like to buy a new battery from AAA; I said yes. He took a battery out of his truck, and it did not fit. He was perplexed. He stated that there was only one kind of battery for a Honda, new or old. He owned one himself. I asked him if he had never seen an old Honda with a new battery. He said yes, but the car had been modified. Next day, called my mechanic who makes house calls. He went and picked up a Honda battery from the dealer and installed it in two minutes. I called the service dispatch line to complain about the incorrect information from the tech; it was sympathetically received. Informed that I should call AAA customer service at 800-291-8022. I tried over two days. I waited on the phone for nine minutes and then 22 minutes. I also left two voicemails with a callback number. No one has contacted me. Their "customer service" doesn't exist, apparently outside of road service and in-office services. Resolution Sought A conversation (not a letter) from a high-up management (like a regional VP) about why there is no mechanism to complain and how they will address their techs giving out incorrect info (thereby stressing out their customers).
