Apr 30, 2024 Attn: Business Consumer Alliance (BCA) Representative Re: Ms. Zlomke Dear BCA Representative: This is in response to a recent complaint to the Business Consumer Alliance, filed by Ms. Zlomke. The issue is regarding Expedia and Ms. Zlomke's challenges in making new flight reservations. This complaint has been referred to us for investigation and response. Please be advised that AARP contracts with providers to make products and services available to AARP members. Neither AARP nor its affiliate is the provider. When AARP receives a complaint such as the one that you forwarded, AARP will forward the complaint to the appropriate provider for feedback, research and/or response. Since AARP is not the service provider, we unfortunately cannot access Ms. Zlomke's records with Expedia to address her concerns. To assist, we forwarded the complaint on behalf of Ms. Zlomke to Expedia's Escalations Team to have a thorough review and investigation completed. Expedia's Escalations Team has informed AARP that they attempted to reach Ms. Zlomke in April by phone to assist. However, when they tried calling Ms. Zlomke, their number was unfortunately blocked on the receiving end. Expedia was therefore unable to complete the call to Ms. Zlomke, as the number was blocked. Expedia further advised that, as they were unable to reach Ms. Zlomke by phone, they instead attempted to reach Ms. Zlomke via email, also in April. In their email, Expedia requested that Ms. Zlomke provide them with the details of the flight she wanted to book, or else a best callback number with the preferred time so they could further assist her. As they did not receive a reply, Expedia sent a number of follow-up emails to Ms. Zlomke. Expedia has informed us that they have not yet heard back from Ms. Zlomke via email. If Ms. Zlomke wishes to discuss potential travel options with Expedia, we would encourage her to contact Expedia directly for assistance. She can reach Expedia and the AARP Travel Center directly over the phone by calling 1-800-675-4318. Alternatively, if preferable, she may visit their website online at https://www.expedia-aarp.com/. We hope this information is helpful. We apologize for the inconvenience Ms. Zlomke has experienced. Member Relations AARP Services, Inc.
