We are paying a medical debt ami purchased and they are charging interest on our account. At this rate it will take the rest of our lives to pay it down. I've researched interest on medical debt and if it didn't have interest on the original account they cannot charge it. Resolution Sought Remove the interest charges and interest all together, so we can actually be paying down our debt.

Company states; We are unable to confirm or deny if the complainant was ever associated with our company without receipt of a signed HIPAA release form (please see attached). If we receive a signed HIPPA form from the complainant (must include a signature from the complainant and not just a typed authorization), then we can look into the matter further. They are not a medical facility so they do not have medical records, this is a collection agency charging intrest on a medical debt they purchsed from the hospital.

Our position remains we will not respond to any specifics without a signed HIPAA form by the complainant. As a general statement, please be aware that per South Dakota law, we are allowed to charge interest in our work as a collection agency.
