Affordable Tours complaints

We had a trip to Scotland booked through them, with cie tours, scheduled for April 2020. Then covid! So they offered us to rebook but refused to give our $ back. So rebooked for August 2020. Once again... covid still! Once again they refused to give our $ back. We had to insurance (underwritten by Arch) that had a cancel for any reason, but when I asked the booking agent about it he said they would deny our claim since cie wasn't technically keeping our money but offering us a voucher or rebooting. How is that not keeping our $?? You're basically holding us hostage... we are forced to rebook our loose everything?? So of course we rebooked for April 2021...yep..covid. so rebooked for August 12th 2021... only to be canceled again. Oh sorry "postponed"... which is just another loop hole b.s. way these travel companies are getting away with screwing people out of their $. So once again I asked about invoking our insurance cancel for any reason clause. Again was told we wouldn't get any $ back since cie is technically not keeping our $ by offering future travel our rebooking. This is CRAZY!! Now I ask about the insurance...oh now we have to get a voucher for the that also because our policy only carries through for 2 years. Now that may cost us more $. The airline realized how ridiculous this is & just refunded us our $. You know it's crazy when the airline actually refunds you money & doesn't just offer you a voucher! Cie & affordable tours refuse to refund!! Resolution Sought All we want is to be able to invoke our original insurance policy "cancel for any reason" clause & recoup the 75 of the cost of the Scotland land tour it says it would cover. Otherwise what's the point of having insurance at all?? It would be really nice if these companies wouldn't be holding people's hard earned $ hostage during times like this. I'm a front line worker & have seen some of the worst during this pandemic but this corporate greed is ridiculous!
