I have far too often found my husband lying in his own feces. When calling for cleanup it can take well over an hour. Imagine if this was someone you loved..I have far too often found that his tray is too far away from him to reach so that he can eat or get to his phone. I have told doctors about pain in his stomach that no one seems to want to explore. He is not eating, he is, and has been, very ill and I feel that he is absolutely not receiving adequate care. He has had at least nine procedures, including surgeries, where I have twice, twice, spoken with his surgeon afterward. In fact, one morning I received a call from a Dr. in surgery who said that he understood they had not been good about speaking with me afterward and promised someone would after that day's surgery. Never happened. Another doctor came in to speak with me regarding his meds at the time and said she would be back that next day. That was early August. Never saw her again. You really, really have to do better here. I'm not sure my husband can survive this. He's been here for 19 weeks,. It doesn't get better. Resolution Sought To pay attention to the patients. To speak to the families. To put care and cleanliness first.
