Our HOA (managed by Algonquin Property Management out of Allen) Ridgeline Townhomes at Carrollton, has put my family and others at risk. On Feb 14, we had a plumber named Mike from BlueFrog plumbing come to our condo because of an apparent leak in our kitchen. Mike is very experienced, and felt we needed to see if the leak was coming from our neighbor. So that day we contacted the HOA management company. They informed us they would contact the owner. The next day I followed up with them and the property manager on the owner's information. They stated they only knew her first name and had an email on file (unbelievable!) and that she has been notified. The receptionist also told me that they think the owner skipped town because she owed the HOA $4K in assessment fees (this is a ridiculous amount, and violates section 8 of the rules and regulations the HOA has, that states there will be a lien and/or foreclosure on the owner for overdue fees). On Friday the 16th, our plumber returned, frustrated we couldn't get into the other unit. His only option was to make a hole under our sink. When he did that, it was apparent that the leak was coming from next door. We once again contacted Algonquin, and they sent out the property manager, Eusty Hermida with a locksmith to enter unit 423. In the meantime, Josh Knight from Call Rescue visited our property to inspect the damage. There was quite a bit, and water was continuing to leak from 423. Resolution Sought Clear the hoard, decontaminate and assure our neighborhood that the unit is safe.
