I had ordered a book from Alibris (later found out might be under Bonita). The book was for a book for the book club I belong to. It took approximately 4 weeks before I received the book and when it came on the back of the book the US price showed $16.99 I paid total $76.42 that was supposed to cover the shipping and handling. I contacted the company asking if they could refund me the difference of $53.65 which was the book cost plus the shipping and handling. They said nope, you paid and that's it. I wrote the author to let her know what the company is doing but she said she is use to overpricing and there was nothing she could do. To say I was upset is an understatement since as mentioned above the cost is $16.99 and with tax, and shipping and handling total should have been $22.77. And it would not have made since to send the book back if I was not going to get my money back. Resolution Sought I would like the difference of $53.65 sent to me

Without the details for the order, it's impossible to know the exact situation. However, Alibris is a marketplace where sellers from all over the world list copies of books, generally second hand, at prices they decide fit the market value. In many cases, the items listed are collectible copies, or copies long out of print where the publisher's list price on the book does not necessarily reflect the current value of the book. So, while the printed price on the cover of the book might indicate one price, that price does hold true for the value of the book on the second hand market. Based on Alibris Inc. response I am not a happy person. Their response basically said the same thing you are out of luck of getting a refund or the difference back such sad business. No I am not happy with their comment, this was NOT a special book, no author's signature or anything to make this a special book. And I do not know what other details they may say they are missing in reference to the order. "The exact situation" is on the back of the book it has US $16.99 and my total charge was $76.42 so they are just giving a bunch of BS. The only thing I would like is a refund of $53.65 which is the difference of $76.42 minus 16.99 plus tax and shipping handling.
