Customer Complaint

I had appointment for a gutter removal/replacement estimate between 11am-12noon. I received a call that the estimator would arrive around 11:15am. I went to the front door at 10:50 am, to unlock it and wait by the window. When I opened the door, I noticed a business card on my stoop. It was from Shaw Glisson CEO of All Raingutter Systems Inc. No one rang the doorbell to alert me of their presence. I called the company and was told that Shawn arrived much earlier than planned. He took it upon himself, to go into my backyard, to take measurements and photos. He did this WITHOUT my permission. I consider this trespassing as I was not aware that he had arrived at my address. He did not have his secretary alert me to his arrival, but he let her know that he had obtained the information needed for the estimate. Resolution Sought I would like the business to not continue this practice. A ring of the doorbell, a loud knock on the door, a text or a phone call are all very appropriate ways of alerting a potential customer of their presence. NEVER enter someone's backyard WITHOUT permission.

Company Response

Our CEO did knock on the front door, several times. He would never and has never entered any customer or potential customer's property without ringing the doorbell or knocking on the front door. When we schedule an estimate, regardless of whether the estimator is early or late, it is our understanding that the customer has agreed for the estimator to do his estimate to the best of his ability so that we do not have to inconvenience the customer with a 2nd appointment. This is the 1st complaint of this nature in the 30+ years that our company has been doing business, so I am honestly at a loss for words that the complainant would even submit such a complaint.
