Customer's vehicle was towed into our shop on 9/21/22. We attempted from that day until 11/1/22 to contact him regarding his vehicle, I then advised him of his estimate on his 2021 Dodge Challenger. He was not happy with the estimate and advised me he was calling State Farm to discuss the matter. On 11/4/22 we received payment from State Farm in the amount of $5745.69 as an electronic payment. We never get payment from State Farm until a job is completed so I called State Farm to see why we had received this payment, I was advised customer requested it be sent to us. State Farm was only paying to have the muffler and a bezel replaced on his car. There was other damage to his vehicle, but State Farm had not agreed to pay for it. On 11/18/22 I spoke to customer and he advised me he was going to have his vehicle towed to his home. I advised him that it was fine but he had to pay us for the tow bill in the amount of $1945.00 that was paid for by our shop before he could have his vehicle. He was not willing to pay this so I called State Farm. I spoke to Kari at State Farm and advised her the customer was not happy with the estimate and was wanting to have his vehicle towed to his home but we had a tow bill in the amount $1945.00 that needed to be paid in order for the vehicle to be released. She advised me to take the $1945.00 from the $5745.69 they had paid us and send a refund back to State Farm P.O. Box 52250 Phoenix Arizona 85072-2250. On 11/21/22 I sent a refund check #2106 in the amount of $3800.69 to State Farm as I was told to do by State Farm. Kari told me they would pay the customer for any money owed to him. On 12/12/22 the customer left a message on our voicemail stating he wanted his money, I called State Farm to see what was going on and was advised that his claim was still pending. I called the customer to advise him that we did everything we were to do, he needed to contact State Farm, he did not answer so I left a message on his voicemail As of 11/22/22 this claim is out of our hands. We did exactly as State Farm instructed us to do.
