I received a message from Amaro Therapeutics saying that they wanted to interview me for a job. We did the interview and they hired me. They sent me a couple of checks for me to purchase office equipment that I needed to perform the job. One check was for $1850 which the check was returned and then another check for $1950.00. I deposited it also. I made purchases totaling $1850.00 before the check was returned leaving my bank account in the negative balance For $1834.00. Resolution Sought I would like a refund for the $1834.00.

A phishing entity is impersonating Amaro Therapeutics, Inc.. We have placed an automatic response on the [email protected] email to address this issue. The automatic response states that Amaro is not hiring, and any such action is a scam. In addition, Amaro responds to every person that reaches out to Amaro via email or LinkedIn. The email being used by the phishing entity is @amarotx.info. The domain amarotx.info is not owned by Amaro Therapeutics, Inc. We have filed a fraud report with the domain registrar to have the @amarotx.info domain suspended but are waiting for their internal review process. Regarding the Offer Letter, the fine print at the end of the letter states, “https://www.amarotx.com standard terms and conditions which are published on our website.” First, there are no ‘standard terms and conditions’ on the Amaro website which should be a red flag to anyone signing this document. Secondly, if you hover over the www.amarotx.com domain on the above stated line, you will note that the website: www.aravisbiotech.com appears; clicking on the www.amarotx.com link takes you to the www.aravisbiotech.com website; another red flag. We are also working with the legal team at Providence First Trust of Phoneix where the phishing entity has drafted fraudulent checks.

Thanks for the information. This is terrible! I have not been able to pay my bills because of the debit on my account of the money I have spent with this scam. I am asking for $1834.00 for the funds that I have spent because the check was returned as bad on the supposed scam office equipment. I hope you find out who is doing this so I can get refunded.

I don't know if anyone will be able to locate this entity. Perhaps your bank or some other consumer protection group can help with the loss of your funds. I would certainly protect yourself and your bank account particularily if you gave them any bank details that would allow them to access your account. You should speak with your bank and maybe they can advise you on what more you can do to protect yourself.
