I first contacted American on October 21, 2021 and told them I needed an estimate for all plumbing on the 1st floor of my home from the May flood. A water heater, dishwasher, garbage disposal, main kitchen sink, prep sink, bath vanity and a shower installation. I was told that there was a 65.00 estimate charge that I agreed to and paid by check. Seth came to the house for 15 minutes and gave me a price for the water heater only and that he would have to get with a Mr. SMITH about the rest and email me a copy of the cost. I never received that email. I waited November 8th and called looking for the email. I was told the estimate was written on the paid invoice. I stated that the only thing on the invoice was the water heater and nothing else. The lady on the phone said she would have to get in touch with Mr. SMITH again. I wanted till November 29th for that estimate and still no response. I called again and was told the same thing and I said please give me the estimate or refund my 65.00 because I paid for an entire estimate. I called again on December 6th @4:14 and was told that Mr. SMITH had to come out and take pictures. I told them I found someone else because I had already wasted too much time waiting on them to give me the estimate I asked for back in OCTOBER. The lady on the phone said she would get with this Mr. SMITH AGAIN about a refund and it is now the 20th of December and still nothing. I just want my 65.00 back for something that I was promised. Resolution Sought Refund my 65.00 and I will withdraw my complaint. That's all I want! Bad enough I was flooded and now being taken advantage of is unethical and unexceceptable. VERY poor customer relations after such an event. If I don't get a refund , I will maintain my complaint and then I WILL forward it to the LOUISIANA board of contractors. This is not right. I just want money I paid in good Faith for something I did not get in return not to mention wasting 2 months. Water heater alone is not an estimate.
