They told me they would amend my taxes, and they did not, I got a letter from the IRS stating I owe $36,391.41. American Tax Defense is asking me for $2500.00, but I don't know why they are billing me, I still owe the IRS. Resolution Sought To not pay the $2500.00

Hello Nicholas, We had completed a Tax Investigation on your behalf to evaluate your overall balance and unfiled tax years with the IRS at no immediate cost. That balance is still active as we had only just begun the Resolution process in June. The resolution process is to ultimately resolve your tax situation and place you into the best resolution program for your given financial situation to reduce, handle, and ultimately pay off your tax liability. Our company does not directly pay off your balance. The $2,500 charge from our company was for our services in ultimately setting up this resolution as well as for completing the Tax Investigation on your behalf. Without payment for our services we are unable to proceed with your case, and will be closing your file. If you would like to resume services, please reach out to our team and we will be happy to renegotiate a payment schedule that is more appropriate for your situation while we work on your Tax Resolution.
