I contacted American Tax Service on 4/28/25, spoke with a representative named Michael, in regards to my IRS tax bill. He explained that they do help with tax relief and it takes about 5 months. He stated they will send an attorney to fight to $1600.00 when I said that was too much, he said then how much can I pay, he said they can do monthly payments. He set up bi weekly payments $266.36. He emailed me a contract and take a payment. I signed the contract and they took the payment immediately. They took 2 more payments before anyone contacted me. they called and told me they needed all my documents, all my payments, accounts, 401K info, I sent her all the info. They continued to take payments and would not reach out to me. I finally got a call Bob, from someone stating they were taking over my case. I hadn't heard any thing from anyone again until it was time to take the last pymt but I didn't have enough funds to cover and Bob reached out to me. I told him to wait until the next day. He at that time told me to sign the POA and send it back so the attorney can represent me, but I never signed and sent the POA back, 2 days later they called me and told me they had a resolution for me. they decided I had extra income and did not qualify for tax relief. And set up $175monthly payment and that I did not qualify for a decrease in the amount owed. Resolution Sought Refund of $1600.00
