I had a Generac generator installed close to 2 years ago. The system fumes are going into my Soffit vents and causing carbon monoxide to be released into the home. The company sent out 2 plumbers who took pictures and advised the company would contact me the following day. The following day came and no one contacted me. I called the company where I was placed on hold, then hung up on. I contacted my sales guy from the company who advised me there was nothing he could do and told me to cover my Soffit vents on that side on the house with the generator. I contacted 4 different contractors who strongly advised me not to cover my vents. They all advised of this problem needing to be resolved by the company Who installed my generator due to the fumes going into the vents in addition to the generator being close to a bedroom window. My salesman advised me that I could pay 8k to have the unit moved. I don't have 8k after spending 16k for the generator. The fire department shut the generator down and now I can't use it due to the carbon monoxide or get help from the company. I'm very disappointed with the way I've been treated when I could have died from using my very expensive generator. Resolution Sought I would like someone from the company to come out other than plumbers who couldn't answer my questions to address the carbon monoxide concerns and discus moving the generator to a different location where the fumes are not going into my Soffit vents or the bedroom window.
