Consumer alleges: AAA caused damage to our vehicle and it is inoperable (10/10/2025). They towed it from the police impound to a cousin's church and now the car is undrivable. The steering wheel is cocked to the side. The police informed us that when it was towed to the impound lot it was done on a flatbed. When AAA towed it from the yard they used a rear wheel lift which caused damages. We have been in contact with AAA and told a claim was filed. The claim administrator will not provide her direct number and we keep getting the run around. No claim number was ever provided and the response time to reply to the claim expired 9 days ago (11/11/25). I have not been able to get any updates and I have a car that is not drivable. Resolution Sought for AAA to tow the car to a facility where they can assess the damages and estimate the repair cost and pay for damages they caused.

This is not a matter for the Automobile Club of Southern California to address, We do not find a membership for this person and they appear to be out of our service territory.

This is patently false. The car was towed in San Bernardino which is in Southern California. I certainly have a AAA membership. Their response is nonsensical and untruthful.

RESPONSE: Refuse to adjust, relying on terms of agreement Amount in Dispute: $0.00 Amount Settled: $0.00

Customer Complaint

My AAA membership (#6200046543507303) was canceled in April without my consent. At the time, I was hospitalized for a thyroid storm — a life-threatening emergency — and unable to respond to mail. In the past, AAA has always called me about account issues, but this time I received no phone call. I am a single mother, and this was my first time trusting AAA because of its reputation. Reliable coverage is critical for me and my children, yet when I tried to resolve this, every employee I spoke to (including a supervisor) showed no empathy. Instead of helping, I was transferred and told to reapply. I have always acted in good faith. On one occasion, I even paid $450 in a lump sum when my disability prepaid card caused problems. I am ready to provide updated payment information now. It is unreasonable and unfair that AAA canceled my membership without proper notice, failed to follow their past practice of calling, and then offered no real solution. Resolution Sought I request AAA reinstate my Auto Insurance membership immediately without penalty and waive any re-enrollment fees, given my medical hardship and the failure to notify me properly. I also ask AAA to update my payment method and confirm my coverage is active. If unresolved, I will escalate further to the BBB and CA Dept. of Insurance.
