I rented a vehicle from Avis at the Charleston South Carolina airport on March 10th and returned it March 14th. We were there to see my son graduate boot camp. About 2 and a half weeks later I received an email stating that the car had damages and the cost to repair it was over 400 dollars. I replied to that email saying there was no damage to the vehicle while it was in my possession, in fact I purposely waited for the agent to walk around the car when I returned it. I received an email back stating that the case has been closed and there was no further action on my part. Today 15 March I received another email stating I damaged the vehicle with a new total of 1128$. After looking at my receipt and the pictures they had sent I see that the mileage is considerably higher than what it was when I returned the vehicle. I have all the emails and my receipt and can provide if necessary. I'll also add that not one of the pictures that were provided to me had a time stamp. I'll also add that I dropped the vehicle off in a parking garage with the Avis agent. All the pictures are of the vehicle that have been provided to me are of it outside. Therefore how do I know if it didn't happen when they moved the vehicle? Resolution Sought I'm relatively sure this is a scam, and I would assume that it may be individuals that may even work for Avis. I think the company should investigate and make sure something like this isn't happening. I have rented vehicles from Avis for more than 20 years and I travel half the year for work and never had an issue. This needs to be looked into.

I made a rental car reservation from Dallas Fort Worth Airport to Amarillo for about $47.90 with Avis. When I arrived, the companies refused to provide the vehicle unless I paid an extra $210 and said I needed a foreign driver's license, which was never stated during booking. The cars were not provided, and I had to rent another vehicle at a higher cost with Europe car, and Alamo car. I am requesting a full refund and reimbursement for the extra cost. Resolution Sought Full refund and reimbursement for additional rental cost.
