I went for an eyebrow thread lift and I was injected multiple threads, different sizes. The doctor numbed the area and injected different sizes of threads in my eyes. He did the procedure wrong and to cover up he injected bigger threads than what he was supposed to. I told him that I was touching something very close to the crease of my eye and he ignored my concerns. The next day I called worried bc my eye was almost closed and there was a thread sticking out the crease of my eye. Every time I called to address my concerns they just couldn't wait to hang up. Very non caring attitude. On one of my visits he admitted to have done the procedure wrong, but refused to remove the thread as it would scar my face forever. I went to see other surgeons and they told me that the slightest mistake in case of removal I could go blind. This doctor shouldn't be able to rest us as Guinea pigs and get away with it. I didn't get an eyebrow thread lift. There were no results, but there were side effects and consequences at my cost, financially, physically and emotionally. Not only I wasn't given the service I asked for, But I was treated as I'm at wrong for question his skills, and I never got my money back. I was never given a consent to sign before my procedure. This attitude of this doctor is so scary, specially because he is doing many major surgeries at a higher risk in the back of his office and he has a non caring attitude that the moment he messes up you are on your own. Resolution Sought Return my money

Company Response

Company sates: Firstly she had several pre procedure visits where the details of the procedure were explaining to her including the fact that swelling is normal and can be quite severe and the threads may be palpable for a short time after the procedure and that there is no guarantee of symmetry or how much time off work is required. As numerous studies have shown, patients fail to recall these discussions when the results achieved do not match their expectations. And eyebrow lift is a minimally invasive procedure done under local anesthesia so the patient can see the extent of lift achieved by the procedure and she was extremely happy with the extent of the lift at the end of the procedure because she was able to examine it in the mirror and any adjustments required can easily be made at the time. While in the right eye there was no swelling the left eye did swell which resulted in one of the threads becoming palpable. Because of the swelling she had to take several unanticipated days off work for which she felt she should be compensated. She also claimed multiple doctors had advised her that the threads could cause her to go blind which of course is incorrect since the threads are immediately subcutaneous, absorbable and nowhere near the globe and of course she could not give us the names of any doctor that had given her this advice. as expected the swelling subsided and at two week follow-up visit the thread was no longer palpable which is when she first complained that's procedure had not given her the "cat-eye" look she had anticipated It was politely explained to her that if that was the look she was seeking and not a browlift she should have discussed that in advance. All plastic surgeons have their share of patients who are dissatisfied for one reason or another and we work with all patients who have legitimate issues but this was not such a patient.
