Customer Complaint

This bank has allowed someone to open an account in my name without any documents from me. I just received an email today. The phone number on their website takes you to a 3rd party company who can't help you and repeats everything you say. This company is a FRAUD and did not follow any of the banking regulations in AML. Resolution Sought Any account in my name should be closed immediately and I want a confirmation via email sent.

We have also mailed this correspondence to directly to the member and have responded to her complaints in other channels. BBB Chicago and Northern IL BCU Response to Complaint #2156284263 03/20/2024. The member states that they believe there was a breach of their information, and a membership was opened without their consent. The member states that they had not opened a membership. We had an opportunity to investigate the account and were able to determine that the membership had been opened fraudulently and have since closed the membership. Email communication was sent on 3/18/2024 to confirm the account closure and that a correction will be made with her credit bureau information. BCU apologizes for any frustration this situation has caused and appreciates the opportunity to research this matter. Sincerely, BCU
