Brought my car in to get fixed for a ongoing gas smell for over six months. Car shop had it for over 5 hrs gave it back to me with same problem being worse Leaking and smelling gas. Charged me $130 which was agreed upon at time. made half car payment to his wife since I was told at time of purchase they would rather me pay mandatory insurance if I couldn't pay both. I paid $100 in good faith trying to put something on it. I had to take this car to a reliable auto shop and pay $400 for something car lot said they couldn't do. I then received a phone call from owner of used car lot I still had a repair balance of over $400 after I paid my $100 I got my email receipt said balance on repairs $136. Now I'm being told I owe more than what was agreed on He put on my reciept after the no repair needed to go to shop for dangerous gas leak Something I've been telling him for over 6 months. He never said repairs $600 or more at time of getting it back unfixed. Resolution Sought I'd like my supposed repair fees left to be dismissed being they had it twice and didn't fix anything. I told him I will pay the other $100 for rest of car payment. That's all I should owe. Not right to put on last reciept one price then tell me I owe way more.

We have reviewed the complaint from J. Whitledge in regards to vehicle repairs. The customer was charged for parts and labor to replace a damaged fuel rail for a 2002 Chevrolet Malibu. This part is now obsolete and the vehicle manufacturer is no longer making this part. This was explained to the customer and a used part was located from a recycler. There is no way for us to determine prior to ordering or installing, the internal condition of the used part. After installation of the fuel rail, there appeared to be new fuel leakage, suggesting a leaking O-Ring. The O-rings are attached to the fuel rail, and visual inspection did not show damage or deterioration. This was not discovered until after installation and post vehicle start up. Upon discovery of the leaking O-ring, we attempted to explain what had been discovered to the customer, who was visibly upset and left abruptly. The billing for parts and labor are accurate and were authorized by the customer.
