I bought a 2018 Kia soul plus in June 2019. I was told when looking at this car to purchase it had two warranties, one dealership warranty that ends in a few months and another kia warranty that follows whatever owner (no matter how many) for 10 years or 100,000 miles— whichever comes first. Today was the first time I've ever tried to use the warranty and I was not only told it wasn't covered due to me being the second owner (they told me it follows the car not owner) and gave me a paper stating this in my purchase packet, but charged $90 for diagnostics to tell me this and billed me $350 to have this replaced. This is something that should be covered had my warranty been valid to me as a purchaser of a pre owned kia. They told me the sales guy must have lied and wouldn't work there anymore because nobody works there still from 2019. This was after being hung up on and laughed at. They said we shouldn't have taken sales man's word. How could we not? Who goes behind a sales man and looks up each individual thing they said to make sure it's accurate? Also, if your sales man lied and gave false information why are you not honoring this? I have proof he said this to me because I have the paper he gave me stating the exact same thing. I'm so disappointed in this company. Resolution Sought Make it right and cover the warranty to 10 years or 100,000 miles because they should honor their deal. At the very least they should pay for this one part and replacement (windshield washer fluid motor part) because I wasn't aware I didn't have a warranty and ended up paying $90 for them to tell me I don't. I could have gone to my regular garage and been charged nothing for diagnostics. Plus the $90 I paid for diagnostics.
