To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to file a formal complaint regarding my recent stay at a motel located Big 7 Motel in Chula Vista, California. The conditions were absolutely filthy, unsafe, and appeared to be actively harboring criminal activity. The first room I stayed in didn't even lock when the door was shut—it could be pushed open from the outside without a key. This was a major safety risk and made it impossible to feel secure. In addition, neither this room nor the second room I was moved to had fire detectors. The ceilings showed clear signs that smoke alarms had either been removed or were never installed. This is a serious fire code violation that puts all guests at risk. The sanitation of the rooms was appalling. The towels had disturbing stains, some resembling bodily fluids. Hair was found on the pillows, sheets, and towels, showing that the bedding hadn't been changed or cleaned. The shower curtain had brown stains, and the chairs and furniture were deeply stained and unsanitary. Even more concerning was the environment surrounding the property. I witnessed drug dealers openly operating out of rooms, people high on drugs on the stairwells, and prostitutes on the property. There were individuals sleeping in their cars in the parking lot, and I even saw homeless individuals digging through the motel's dumpster. The entire area felt unsafe and out of control. I am requesting a full refund for my stay and urge your office to conduct an Resolution Sought I am requesting a full refund for my stay due to the extremely unsafe, unsanitary, and unlawful conditions I experienced. I also request that the property be inspected by local health and safety officials and required to address all code violations, including missing fire detectors, unsecured doors, and unsanitary conditions. No guest should have to endure these circumstances, and I hope immediate action is taken to prevent others from being put at risk.
