I am in receipt of Maria Robinson's complaint filed on September 15, 2025, received on September 29, 2025, inquiring into the business of Big Picture Loans, LLC (the "Company"), a wholly owned subsidiary of Tribal Economic Development Holdings, LLC, a wholly owned and operated economic arm and instrumentality of the Lac Vieux Desert Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians ("Tribe"). Specifically, Ms. Robinson asserts that their payment history with the Company is not reflected in their credit report.
Please be advised that Ms. Robinson already complained to the Company through the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau Portal ("CFPB") on August 24, 2025, to which the Company provided a response on September 4, 2025. I have attached a copy of Ms. Robinson's CFPB complaint as well as the Company's response here for their convenience.
Because Tribal law guides the actions of both Ms. Robinson and the Company, and the Company has already provided them with a resolution to their complaint, any further resolution sought by them can only come through their use of the consumer dispute resolution procedures afforded to them under Section 9.8 of the Tribal Consumer Financial Services Regulatory Code
("Code"). If they remain unsatisfied with the Company's September 4, 2025, resolution, they may pursue an administrative review of the Company's resolution by writing to the Tribal Financial Services Regulatory Authority ("Authority") at P.O. Box 249, Watersmeet, Michigan 49969.
Pursuant to the Code, Ms. Robinson's writing to the Authority must include the following information:
• Their full name as it appears on their loan agreement, as well as their address, email
address, and phone number;
• A copy of their loan agreement, or their loan application number;
• A copy of the Company's proposed resolution and any subsequent communications
from the Company;
• A summary of the events and circumstances surrounding their complaint;
• A statement requesting an administrative review hearing before the Authority, and
whether they will appear personally or by phone if such hearing is granted, and
whether they will be represented by an attorney; and,
• Any other information they feels may be relevant to their complaint.
